I am participating in a Five Minute 31 Day Writing Challenge - I am going to admit that life is going to get in the way of me doing this every day but I sure am going to try. Here is the first day!!
Worship:
What does worship mean to me? Is it corporate worship? Is it a quiet time in an outside setting? Is it nightly prayers with my little ones or Bible stories with them snuggled up tight?
I guess it is all of these things – anything that makes me feel closer to God and gives me that sense of peace in His presence. I struggle with peace right now – hustle and bustle of small kids, a full-time job, activities, and just life (laundry, dishes, clothes, picture day, talking to my husband, add it football season and fall activities and it gets crazy)
In this season, I have to look for worship in all the little places. The sweet faces of my kids as they hear a favorite story – Tucker the Bear going to see the King (God) so he can get help for his friends. Clara asking for prayers in the car this morning before school I can see it as an anxious child(which is what my anxious self immediately sees) or just one who wants to connect with God more. I will see her as wanting to connect –a child I should be more like. Or in Sam Henry’s 2-year-old face as he pushes Siri on my phone and yells, “I need Dej -esus” trying to get the Bible Story app to open.
Worship on Sunday with a wonderful praise band and a great message, fills me up –but I need it every day in the little moments too. I choose to see that – to worship that way, too.
